Guidelines for Hosting a Georgia State Tournament
This guideline was adopted by the Georgia District Administrators' Association at their June 4, 2005 meeting.

Tournament format: The tournament format - pool play format or double elimination format - will be determined by the GDAA, as will be the drawings for the teams in the pools or brackets.

Parking donations: A parking donation may be requested that is not to exceed $5.00 per day per vehicle, at any level of play.  At the Junior, Senior, and Big League levels, an admission fee that is not to exceed $2.00 per day per person may be assessed to spectators in lieu of a parking fee.    Note: There should be no admission fee assessed to children 12 years and below.

Awards: A standard Little League championship flag will be awarded.

Tournament banquet: For the younger age levels (12 and below), the Tournament Banquet should include speakers and activities that should assure that this is a memorable event for players, managers, coaches, and others. For the older age levels, the Tournament Banquet might be replaced by an opening day BBQ dinner or similar event.

It is traditional to provide banquet tickets for the players, managers, and coaches of the teams participating in the tournament (15-20 tickets per team), as well as the volunteer umpires and Little League community.

Umpires: A strong effort will be made to use volunteer umpires from as many different districts as possible. A strong effort will be made to use a "district neutral" plate umpire for each game. Service is voluntary, but a strong effort should be made to reimburse the volunteer umpires for reasonable expenses for travel and meals, as well as lodging when appropriate.

The remaining items are optional.

Awards:  A champion team trophy may be awarded.  A runner-up team trophy may be awarded, as well as final game individual plaques for the players, managers, and coaches (15-20 plaques per team).

Tournament pins: Customized tournament pins may be provided to each team in the tournament (15-20 pins per team). Also, each volunteer umpire may be provided with one or more tournament pins.

Tournament tee shirts: Each volunteer umpire may be provided with a tournament tee shirt if available.
