The Little League Challenger Program, begun in 1989, is Little League's adaptive baseball programs for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges.   There are currently 950 Challenger programs being played in 10 countries around the world.  Over 30,000 athletes participate in the Challenger Division every year.

Challenger Baseball

The Little League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in school.   The local league may use "buddies" to assist the Challenger players in the areas of batting, base running and defense if needed.  Challenger games may be played on a traditional or a synthetic baseball or softball field.

Senior Challenger Baseball

The Senior Challenger Division is for individuals age 15 and above who have a physical or intellectual challenge.  A local league that offers the Little League Challenger Division may also operate the Senior Challenger Division.
